Well, there are a whole lot of different bonds and relationships that I think are really interesting, but I know you mean romantic ones heh
hmm I have super guilty softspots for Meenah/Aranea, Kanaya/Vriska, and Rose/Dave (and me/redglare shhh)
Looking at it now, all those relationships are pretty unhealthy.
Anon I’m sorry that happened…I know it’s a shitty feeling. I’ve talked to people and eventually had them ask me to draw out their comics or ideas all the time free of charge because we’re ‘friends’. When the realization hits and you think you’re getting to know someone, it’s pretty painful aha..
While I do like to draw presents for my friends on special occasions!! You should never feel pressured to draw or do work for someone because they want you to. There are people out there who do use others like this, and you just gotta decline if they make you uncomfortable with it, even if you really thought you were becoming friends.
auhh I feel like anatomy is one of my weakest points, but I’ll try to help and point out info if I can.
I think ultimately something that’ll help is practicing from reference. Gesture drawings are good to do! But also closely observing the body and seeing the different curves, lines, and shapes. Understanding lighting and shadows is important in this too.
On the subject of shapes, you can also build a person from the skeleton up, so to speak! Simplifying a figure with guidelines and shapes (like circles and stick-figures) and building on top of that can prove pretty helpful as well. I always start people/faces with guidelines so I don’t end up with an eye where the mouth should be (unless I want it that way heh)
Also, to remember that the body is full of angles! What may seem like a straight line, might really have varying, softer lines that make it up.

I think you should buy whatever makes you happiest in the end!! It’s always good to think ahead with this kinda stuff.
Also, if you’re able to do commissions after getting a tablet, you could always try and save up again for the video game of your dreams!

The artist that got me focused on coloring has gotta be PK. I didn’t know much about color theory or choice, but I started to brush up on it after reading her tutorial. So I very much recommend that if you haven’t seen it already! It’s got a lot of information that I use too.
If you’re starting out making color schemes or you’re like me and too lazy to give much thought to it sometimes, another thing you could do is just pick a color that you like a whole lot (and that’s close to a hue involved in your subject) and just experiment with other colors you like to see if they all work well together!
